8 August 2013

Last week we were able to witness the baptism of an investigator Felix. It was a very moving experience to see how far he had come from the life we was leaving behind and wanting to move on from. AS we were able to sit with him and talk to him about what would happen the day
before, he was very excited. A little nervous, but still excited. We were able to help him understand the Baptismal questions and what would be expected of him as he starts this new journey. We hope that as he now knows that he will continue in doing what he will feel is right. WE are trying to get more encounters with him just before he is confirmed into the church.

Last week also we weren't able to really do all that we wanted. It seemed frustrating that everyone we intended to see either wasn't available or was not really focused. We had one lesson that took a complete 180 turn on us from where we thought she was at. Her name is Nia. We had a very long talk about the priesthood, really not thinking that it would lead there. At first we followed up with her reading assignment on 1 Nephi 8 hoping that it would be easily understood. She said that she didn't get a chance to read all of it so we decided to finish it with her. That part went great. That is until we started talking about the small narrow path. That is where something happened that we are going to have to do a little bit of digging into ourselves to find. It is going to take a lot of work to figure this one out. We know so far that our strategy needs some adjusting in how we teach her. So hopefully next Monday will be a better story.

This week has been a good week so far. Zone Conference was great. We got some of the insights that we needed and immediately put them into action. Yesterday was a great day! Got to see the Chalace family and we talked a lot about helping their friends learn more about the gospel and that we would help them find better ways to do it. Sister
Chalace joined us for the Family Home Evening which we had and we are going to be involving her more in events and other things that take place at the church. So far things are looking up for them to get to the temple by January.

Elder Christensen and I Had a really good studies this morning as we talked about the vision of our mission in Turks and Caicos. WE have established some general goal that we will be working on leading to some more specific ones to be able to get all of them, That is what we
want to do the most is get ALL OF THEM!!! We have been brainstorming
things that would help us to create more of an effort on everybody's part to get the work moving and the church growing here.

Still the same old between Elder Christensen & I. We have gotten such a great motivation from each other. Things are still moving forward and we can see our progression each day. I love him so much. He has definitely been a great example to me and we are effectively trying to keep it up. We know that the more in unison we are the better our
efforts will be.
