29 July 2013

Hey all those who may be wondering? Why isn't Elder Christensen writing me? its beacuse you not writing back!!!!! If you want a personal snippet you have to write me or i can do nothing!!!

have a great week Our most progressing investigator, Felix, Is going to hopefully be baptized this week. WE have been able to tech him all the necessary points of the gospel and lessons and we hope to be able to go through the baptismal interview questions with him tomorrow.

Other than that we have 5 others with a baptismal date, Again two showed up after sacrament and the other three didn't come at all. WE will be adjusting out teaching to teach the importance of church attendance this week in most of our lessons. WE are also going to be doing more referral seeking from investigators so they can see how serious they are when we start teaching their friends and not seeing them as much because of the lack of commitment, hopefully that will spark something in them and also let them know that we are not here merely for friendship.

Elder Christensen & I have been doing great. We honestly get along very well, our teaching styles really compliment each other and we are moving fluently and simply through the lessons. I Personally am going to work on using smaller simpler phrases because sometimes i find myself talking a little to much. Elder Christensen has been a great help to me, our unity is one of the best i have experienced on my mission so far. WE have been working hard and having fun while we have been doing it. He has again showed me some very important things about why the book of Mormon is essential in our teaching.

There was a cd that he had and the comment was made, "that for the past centuries over 200 denominations have been arguing over the bible, we don;t
argue about the bible we teach from the book of Mormon, it gives validity to the bible, and helps us understand the doctrines in the purest form, DON'T BIBLE BASH!!!" That was like a slap to the face to me, realizing that for the past 18 months i have tried to fight fire with fire when all this time there was a way to not have to fight at all. It has really helped me to understand how our Heavenly Father will not keep us in confusion or contention.

I myself have felt much more improvement as my focus has become
increasing better and in line with the will and focus of God. I have noticed that my want to do missionary work really out weighs everything else that used to distract or take up my time. Really in all of the sense not spending my time wisely.  WE have been working on things that will just keep us busy always trying to get things done and have multiple back ups for when things fall through. Over all this
has a been a wonderful journey that i have taken and am so glad that i got to be a part of it. There is so much out there that awaits any who will simply obey and trust.

In My studies this week i came across Alma 7:3. As i thought about it it reminded me of the commitments we make and should strive to keep as
members of the Church of Jesus Christ, "And behold, i have come having great hopes and much desire that i should find that ye had humbled yourselves before God, and continued in the supplicating of his grace, that i should find that ye were blameless before him, that i would find that ye were not in the awful dilemma that our bretheren were....."

I had me wonder if we check ourselves to find that we have not departed from the things that we know. As we go about day to day finding new ways to serve our Father, are we still keeping our "old"
righteous way there and working, are we constant in all that we do and are we refueling the parts that may be running low? I know that i have some checking to do but i know that i will get there.
